Klientr vs Front
Front is a shared inbox built around email. Comments, assignment, and rules help an operations team work through a high volume of mail, with other channels around that core. Klientr is built around customer conversations on website chat and messaging apps, and the same thread can hold a booking or a payment.
| Topic | Klientr | Front |
|---|---|---|
| Best fit | A small team answering customers on chat and messaging apps | An operations team sharing a high volume of email |
| Center of the product | One conversation per contact and channel | Shared inboxes, with email at the center |
| Channels | Website chat, Telegram, and email to start. WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram on Team | Email first, with other channels added around the inbox |
| Price | Free for two people. Team is $39 a month for up to eight | A price per teammate |
| After the reply | Tasks, a booking, and a PayPal or Stripe charge | Internal comments, assignment, and routing across inboxes |
| Collaboration | Private notes on the customer, and a separate team chat | Comments on the email, built for teammates working the same mail |
Whose inbox it is
Front is at its best when several people share hello@, or a stack of shared addresses, and they need to see who is replying, leave a comment, and route the mail. The customer relationship is often the email itself.
Klientr is at its best when the customer picks the channel. A website chat, a Telegram message, and an email can belong to one contact. The team replies from the queue, and the answer goes back on the channel the customer used.
Comments, or the next piece of work
Front's collaboration is inside the mail. That is what an operations or finance team usually wants. The thread is the work.
Klientr's next step can leave the reply and stay in the workspace anyway. A task on the kanban board, an appointment with a provider and a price, or a PayPal or Stripe charge. Teammate chat is a different room, so a side conversation is not sitting in the customer transcript.
When Front is the better fit
Choose Front when email volume, shared addresses, and internal comments are the job, and you are ready to pay per teammate for that.
Choose Klientr when you want a free start for two people, messaging apps in the same queue, and a booking on the conversation.
Choose Klientr if
The front door is chat or Telegram, the team is small, and you want the price of the workspace rather than a seat.
Choose Front if
The front door is shared email, and the team needs comments, assignment, and rules across a lot of mail.
